The Importance of Attending a Fully Accredited School

The most important part of choosing an online school is making sure it is properly accredited.

American High School is one of only a handful of schools in the US that hold the highest level of accreditation possible at the state, regional, national, and international level. Our degrees are approved and accepted both in the US and around the world. You will not find a more widely recognized and accepted degree than ours.

Accreditation determines if a school and its credits and diplomas are considered ‘real’ by other high schools, colleges and universities, employers, all levels of government, and the military.

There is nothing more frustrating than spending hundreds or thousands of dollars only to discover that your credits and diploma are not accepted by employers, the military, or other schools.

Tens of thousands of people just like you have believed they were paying for and working to obtain a real degree, only to watch their dream turn into a nightmare when they tried to actually use their degree. Don’t let that happen to you!

Checking a school’s accreditation is the most important step in choosing the best online school for you. While there is no ‘National Board of Education’ that accredits middle schools, high schools, or universities; the U.S. Department of Education oversees the most reputable and important accrediting bodies. It is a good place to look when checking a school’s credentials.

American High School delivers accredited, college preparatory and career-based online education for Grades 6-12 to students throughout the U.S. and Internationally. Students receive both core curriculum and elective courses in desirable career fields such as: healthcare, game design, criminal justice, information technology, and management.

AdvancED

advancedAdvancED is the unified organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). These are the same organizations that accredit leading universities. AdvancED provides nationally recognized accreditation for middle and high school districts and individual schools, including 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide.

CITA

The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) was formed in 1994 by regional accrediting organizations in the United States following a long history of collaboration under other auspices. CITA provided systems of accreditation around the world for individual schools. It allowed schools in many different countries to be confident that they were using similar standards so that class credit could be transferred between them. In 2008, CITA was acquired by AdvancED, which continues its work.

SACS CASI

The Council on Accreditation and School Improvement of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS-CASI) is a leading regional accreditation organization for the southern U.S., where American High School is based. SACS is one of the ‘Big 5’ regional accrediting organizations that are used by reputable colleges and universities in the U.S. These organizations also accredited middle schools and high schools. Regional accreditation by one of the ‘Big 5’ ensures that diplomas are universally accepted by employers, colleges, universities, the military, and so forth.

Other Approving Organizations

College Board

American High School is also registered with the College Board and is listed in their National Secondary School List for SAT, PSAT / NMSQT, PLAN, & ACT. We assist all of our students with finding colleges, sorting through financial aid, and preparing students for their next big adventure.

Call 1-888-216-2448 today to speak to an admissions counselor, and mention that you would like to apply for the tuition assistance program.

Approximately 85% of our students receive some form of financial aid, however we recommend that you do not wait as a limited amount is available during each enrollment period. The earlier you call and get in the system, the more likely you are to receive the maximum amount.

When you call, you can request evaluation for either need or merit assistance, however only one will be awarded if you quality for both. The larger award amount will be selected by default and applied to your tuition owed.

Types of Assistance Available

Because every family cannot afford the level of high-quality private education American High School provides, we make several forms of financial assistance available to help close the gap between the costs of attending and your family’s ability to pay, including:

1. Tuition payment plans
2. Needs based tuition reduction plans and scholarships
3. Needs based tuition reductions for multiple enrolled students
4. Merit based tuition reduction plans and scholarships

As a leading private school, American High School provides an outstanding educational value. We understand that your family is making an investment in your child or children’s future. Our goal is to ensure that every young person who desires a high-quality private education has the opportunity to attend despite any financial difficulties his or her family may experience.

Application for tuition assistance will in not influence the selection process for acceptance into American High School. The Administration and Board’s goal is to give all qualified students, regardless of financial resources, an opportunity to attend AHS.
